The word frappe, itself is introduced, by a Nescafe representative in about 1957, for some type of Greek iced coffee drink, after this, it became very popular in Greece and Cyprus and more or less, now it's everywhere, representing greek-coffee-culture

So, what exactly this matcha frappe is?

Its a mixture of ice, milk, sugar, matcha, vanilla extract, or vanilla flavor, nicely mixed and served in cold condition, in some modifications, whipped cream, xanthan gum( for increasing thickness), frozen zucchini, some times milk is partially, or fully replaced by coconut or almond milk, strawberries, monk fruit, white chocolate, etc, are used

Does matcha frappe have caffeine?

As matcha itself has caffeine so its any preparation including this matcha frappe also  going to have the same caffeine and along with this caffeine it will also have all possible benefits what matcha tea or matcha latte may have.

 

Is matcha frappe a healthy drink?

It has all the possible benefits of matcha, if someone has a problem with sugar, maybe he or she can try without sugar or with sugar substitute, in the same way, if someone does not like milk, it's easy to switch over to coconut milk or almond milk, and of course, if you  feel it too cold you have the option to play around  with ice cubes, so we are saying that it's very much adaptable, depending on someones need or choice

 

Are matcha taste and smell problems still there in matcha frappe?

How to make it a very easy way?

We are only presenting here a very basic method, and for that, you need the following

 

Milk..............        1-cup,8-oz,240 ml

Matcha powder     1-to-1.5 teaspoon

Ice cubes               7-to-10 numbers

Vanilla extract       1-table spoon

Whipped cream     1-to-2 tablespoon

Sugar                     3-tablespoon

 

just mix, matcha, milk, ice vanilla, sugar in a blender, then add cream on top and serve

 

Variations

- milk you can change to coconut milk or almond milk

-sugar you can replace by sweetener monk fruit 

-vanilla extract by vanilla or chocolate flavor

-apart from all this you can add xanthate gum for increasing the thickness

- you can also add strawberries for a change
